Morphoagronomical and Nutritive Performance of Brachiaria Grasses Affected by Soil Type and Fertilizer Application Grown under Rainfed Condition in Ethiopia

The objective of the field experiment was to evaluate agronomic performance and nutritive values brachiaria grass in response cultivars, soil type, fertilizer application. A randomized complete block design containing three replications with factors (fertilizer, types) used. cultivars were Brachiaria mutica, hybrid Mulato-II, Mulato-I, birzantha Marandu, La liberated. root splits means propagation for all cultivars. spacing between blocks plots 1 meter while plants rows 0.5 meter. Agronomic such as plant height (PH), number tillers (NT), length leaves, forage dry matter (DM) yield, measured analyzed. Forage samples taken at 90 days harvesting age. general linear model statistical analysis system (SAS) version 9.0 is used a method. results revealed that interaction highly significant ( p < 0.001 ) on most its higher id="M2"> 0.05 black than red soil; except crude protein. Brachiria mutica cultivar had both types Mulato-II Mulato-I. Based recorded, it can be concluded B. Mulato-I performing better study areas. As recommendation, farmers should consider cultivar, presence establishing production system.
